• ASTROLOGY WITH LOU HART

Yoga and Astrology have been interconnected for thousands of years and when we deepen our awareness we learn how to intuitively adapt our practice based on the constantly fluctuating cosmic energies.

As a student of Vedic Astrology, I am following the Sidereal Zodiac, which is based on where the constellations are in the sky now. Western Astrology follows the Tropical Zodiac which is based on the fixed points of the 12 sign constellations as they were in the sky 2000 years ago.

Vedic rishis studying astronomy and astrology up to 6,500 years ago discovered an algorithm for tracking the imperfect wobble of Earth's elliptical journey around the sun. Within Vedic Astrology the moon plays a much more significant role, so when we look up our birth chart we find our moon sign and the Rahu (north node) and Ketu (south node) which help guide us to a deeper understanding of what purpose brought our soul to this lifetime and what karmas we are here to release from previous lifetimes.

We are all made up of varying degrees of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Ether, or Space. Through daily yoga and meditation practice over many years, I have come to love connecting all of the dots and bringing the inner elements of the energy centres in my body into harmony with the outer elements as they dance in the movements of the stars and planets of our universe. Ultimately, we are all seeking equilibrium or inner peace, which is actually already within us. It is our task to identify and release all of the obstacles or blocks we may have inherited or created ourselves, in order to fully realise our true nature.

When we cultivate inner peace within we experience it without.
